Mizin Park Kawasaki, M.D., F.A.A.P.
Mizin Kawasaki received her A.B. from Cornell University in 1982 and her M.D. from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in 1986. She did her internship and second year of pediatric residency at the Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital in Ohio. In 1988, she married and moved to Los Angeles to complete her third year of residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Dr. Kawasaki entered private practice as a general pediatrician in 1989 and worked full-time with Dr. Sheldon Kishineff in North Hollywood. She retired from medical practice for several years to rear two children. She joined Dr. Kenneth Saul as a part-time, office-based pediatrician when he moved to his new office in 2008.
Dr. Kawasaki’s practice is centered upon preventive medicine. She has a keen interest in nutrition and hopes to provide sufficient information and guidance so that patients and their families can develop and maintain lifelong healthy eating habits. She advocates a diet that emphasizes plant-based foods, specifically fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes.
Over the years, Dr. Kawasaki has written essays for parenting magazines (Nurturing in Canada and Pumpkin in Japan). She has also published a book on breastfeeding and maternal care.
Dr. Kawasaki is Board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is currently not affiliated with any hospitals.
She is married to Arnold, and they live in Los Angeles. Their son is a student at New York University, and their daughter attends Harvard-Westlake School.
